"Luck of the Green"


12" x 12"
Small Shamrock Quilt

You will need:

8 Dk. Green Squares   3 1/2" x 3 1/2"

5 Lt. Green Squares    3 1/2" x 3 1/2"

9 Lt. Green Squares    1 1/4" x 1 1/4"

2 Dk. Green Squares             4" x  4"

2 Lt. Green Squares              4'" x  4"

One of the Lt. Green 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" squares cut down the
center diagonally.  These will be used for the stem block.

Assembly:

Make 4 half square triangles using the Lt. Green and Dk. Green
4" x 4" squares.


With 3 of the Dk. Green 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" squares place the
         9 Lt. Green 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" squares in 3 of the corners of the Dk. Green squares.            Sew diagonally and trim to a 1/4" seam allowance..
Press toward the corner.




Take 1 of the Dk. Green 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" squares and the 2 Lt. Green
triangles to make the Shamrock stem.
Place 1 Lt. Green triangle on the Dk. Green square.
Right sides together.
As shown in diagram place triangle 1/2" away from Dk. Green corners.
Stitch 1/4" seam allowance along angled side.  Trim to 1/4" seam
allowance.  Press toward corner.  Repeat with other triangle.



Lay squares out and sew them together.
Trim block to 12 1/2" x 12 1/2"
Layer with batting and backing fabric.
Quilt and bind as desired.
